How to write about money and use currency symbols.
Use the £ symbol: £85
Don't use decimals unless pence are included.
For example: £85.20 is fine but not £75.00
Don't use ‘£0.xx million’ or ‘£0.xx billion’ for amounts less than £1 million or billion, unless part of a sequence with larger amounts.
For example: '£15.6 billion was spent in August 2024, an increase of £0.2 billion.'
Write out pence in full for one to nine pence; if over ten pence then use digits.
For example: 'Calls cost four pence per minute from a landline or 25p per minute from a mobile.'
