Children preparing to move from primary to secondary school took part in a series of transition sessions led by Attendance Leads Jane and Laura, with support from Family Hub staff as part of the Attendance Project.
Following two classroom sessions, the group enjoyed a day at Urswick Scout Campsite, where they took part in activities including whittling, leaf printing, friendship bracelet making, campfire cooking and a blind trail challenge. The activities were designed to encourage teamwork, communication, confidence and new skills.
The children especially enjoyed making s’mores and toasted sandwiches, taking on the blind trail challenge, and sharing plenty of laughs throughout the day.
With sunny weather and enthusiastic participation, the event was a memorable and successful experience for everyone involved.
