What we’ve been up to…
We started the month by attending the South Lakes Youth Summit to learn more about the incredible work being done with young people across the region. We made some great new connections and took part in several fascinating workshops, coming away full of ideas and excitement for the future.
On the 9th and 10th September, we attended the Westmorland County Show, where we had a stand in the Education tent. Over the course of two days we spoke to hundreds of wonderful families - sharing information about our services and listening to what they need from us. Thanks so much to everyone who shared their ideas with us.
We’re delighted to have been able to further expand the number of free, universally accessible activities we’ve offered at our Family Hubs, across South Lakes. We’ve covered everything from antenatal classes in Kendal, to Understanding Big Feelings in Milnthorpe and Stories and Rhymes in Flookburgh. As always, please check out our:
What we’re looking forward to…
October half term falls on the week beginning 26th October. We will be running 'Cats, Bats and Pumpkins' stay and play sessions at Milnthorpe, Flookburgh, Sedbergh, Ulverston and Kendal - a different location every day. Expect lots of autumn-themed fun, games and crafts.
We are also running a family games afternoon in Kendal on Friday 30th September: explore building Lego creations, jewellery making or make an item from air drying clay. This session is suitable for children 7+ to attend with a responsible adult.
