Our SEND Local Offer is a single place for information, services, and resources for children and young people aged 0 to 25 years with SEND, and the professionals who support them.
Our SEND Local Offer website has been designed with your needs at the heart of the process.
You'll find everything from:
- activities and information, explaining the support available
- where to go for independent advice
The importance of the SEND Local Offer
Every Local Authority (LA) must publish a SEND Local Offer. It must provide information, in one place, about provision across:
- education
- health
- social care services
This information is for children and young people with SEND, including children and young people who do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
What the SEND Local Offer is for
The aims of our SEND Local Offer are to give information about available provision that is:
- clear
- comprehensive
- accessible
- up to date
We will we aim to make sure that provision is:
- easy to access
- in line with local needs and wishes
What you can find on the website
The SEND Local Offer has 2 main parts:
- an Information Section - this section explains how to get support with education, health, and social care. It will help you understand the services available to your family and how to access them
- a Service Directory - this is a list of services, clubs, support groups, and businesses for your family. It gives a brief introduction to what is offered and gives you contact details. You can also share your experiences with services and find events or activities that might interest your family
