The EAL team is part of the Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) Specialist Teaching Service, and we provide support/advice to families, children and young people and educational providers.
The EAL team aims to improve the learning for children and young people who are accessing the curriculum whilst learning English. This may be at an individual level or working on wider issues with schools and settings.

Not all children learning English as an Additional Language will need to access the service. Your child’s school may ask your permission to contact the team. The team will work with you to plan and review the support for your child.
If you think it would be helpful for the service to be involved with your child, talk to your child’s teacher, Head of Year or Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).
