Senior Teaching Assistant

Required Immediate Start

25-30 hours per week, 5 days a week, hours and hours split can be negotiated Term time

Main Purpose:

•    Within an agreed system of supervision, work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing specialist support to maximise pupil development and achievement. Some of this role would be in our Reception/Year One class. 
•    Roles at this level will be expected to carry out specified work. Senior Teaching Assistants may also supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.

Essential Attributes
•    Is hard-working, has high standards and enjoys the challenge of working in a small school environment. 
•    Level 3 Qualification – Teaching Assistant 
•    Experience of working with and leading small groups or individual children.
•    Team member, but also to show initiative when required.  
•    Is knowledgeable and organised.
•    Is helpful, understanding, calm and consistent in their standards and behaviour.
•    Is flexible, enjoys sharing ideas and understands the importance of collaboration. 
•    Will promote the school's chosen Christian values and has an understanding of their importance in Church Schools.
•    Has experience working in classrooms.

 Desirable Attributes
•    Recent phonics training (Read Write Inc or equivalent)
•    Paediatric first aider
•    Developing knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice
