Teaching Assistant / Senior Teaching Assistant / Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP until 31st August 2026
Croftlands Infant School is looking for a skilled, motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as a Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching and senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for students, and to assist teachers in the management of the students both inside and outside the classroom.

PCDS 5 £25,989 – PCD 8i £32,061 (A) FTE (pro rata) Fixed Term until 31st August 2026 due to budgetary funding
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Contract type: Full time, Fixed Term, Term Time
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake enhanced DBS check, including barred list check and references.
Main purpose
The TA will:
• Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
• Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement
• Promote and enhance the learning and teaching experiences of pupils with SEND in a range of different contexts including in class support and bespoke provision beyond the classroom
• Plan and deliver interventions to individuals or focus groups and assess and monitor the impact of the provision.
• Hold an NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification or have experience in a relevant discipline.
• Have experience of planning and delivering interventions.

- Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and our safeguarding and child protection policies
- Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school
