Food Technology Technician
• Hours: Permanent, 2 days per week (15 hours/week), Term time plus 2 weeks (total of 40 working weeks per year)
• Salary: Grade 4 (£25,583 full-time equivalent), Pro rata salary: £9,149.42
• Responsible to: Head of Design Technology
We are seeking a dedicated Food Technology Technician to support our Design Technology Department in providing a safe, clean and high-quality learning experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of the department, you will ensure our practical food activities run smoothly by providing technical and administrative support. We want a team player who will contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school. The ideal candidate will:
• Be committed to maintaining a safe learning environment in compliance with health and safety and child protection policies.
• Be willing to participate in school events, such as Open Evenings and extracurricular activities.
• Possess strong organisational skills to manage stock and equipment maintenance.
• Engage in continuous professional development and attend relevant meetings.
We are looking for a reliable individual who has achieved Level 1 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or a willingness to undertake one) and has previous catering experience. You should also be willing to attend occasional meetings outside normal hours and participate in ongoing training.
