Temporary , Teacher - Full Time

Start Date: September 2026

Levens CE School – Loving to Learn, Growing together, Caring for All.

Levens School is a thriving village school located just outside Kendal.  We have 100 pupils on roll currently, including 14 pupils accessing our nursery. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, skilled and passionate teacher to join our vibrant community.  Due to a maternity leave starting at the end of the summer term, we are seeking to appoint a creative and reflective teacher to inspire a mixed-age class of pupils in KS1 or KS2.  Due to the expertise and experience of our current teaching staff, we can be flexible for the right candidate.

 This is a temporary fixed term post to cover maternity leave. The position is expected to last until 31 March 2027; however, as the post will end automatically on the return of the substantiative post holder, it may therefore finish earlier or later, depending on the length of their absence.

The postholder will:

•    develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, staff and governors of the school;
•    have extensive knowledge and understanding of the curriculum;
•    be able to plan creatively in order to motivate, engage and challenge all learners, enabling them to reach their true potential;
•    have knowledge and experience of teaching children with SEND, including supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs;
•    demonstrate effective communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team;
•    make a contribution to the wider life of the school, including subject leadership;
•    support and uphold our school’s Christian ethos and values;

In return, we can offer:

•    kind, confident and happy children who enjoy coming to school and are enthusiastic about their learning;
•    an outward facing school that is always seeking to achieve the best for all our pupils;
•    experienced, dedicated and caring colleagues; as well as supportive senior leaders and governors;
•    a commitment to providing a range of opportunities for CPD in and out of school;
•    a thriving school community built on positive relationships.

We are offering tours and an opportunity to learn more about the school on the following dates:
