An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Kendal Nursery School as an Early Years Apprentice.
You will work alongside experienced practitioners within one of our classrooms, supporting children in their play and learning while developing your own skills and knowledge through a Level 2 qualification.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone at the start of their career — you don’t need to know everything yet, but you do need to be ready to learn, get involved and embrace everything that nursery life brings.
At Kendal Nursery School, we love to explore, get messy, find minibeasts, climb trees, make potions and create imaginary worlds. We believe that children learn best through play, curiosity and real experiences — and we’re looking for someone who wants to learn alongside them.
We are looking for someone who has:
• Has a genuine interest in working with young children
• Is positive, reliable and willing to learn
• Communicates well and works as part of a team
• Enjoys being outdoors in all weathers
• Is happy to join in, have a go and try new things
• Supports and celebrates children as they learn and grow
• Is playful, creative and not afraid to be a bit silly
• Is kind, patient and a good listener
• Enjoys stories, laughter and shared adventures
• Values that every child is unique — and that’s what makes our nursery special
No formal qualifications are required — just enthusiasm, curiosity and the right attitude.
Visits to the school are welcomed by prior arrangement with the Headteacher.
Kendal Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to support this. This position is subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring check (DBS).
Application forms can be downloaded from Westmorland & Furness County Council website and further information is available from the school. Please
