Furness Education Trust is a multi-academy trust based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria serving the Furness community, located near the centre of the historic shipbuilding town, we are close to the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park, making this an ideal location for anyone wishing to work in The Lake District. Currently comprised of seven schools including Furness Academy, Walney School and five primary schools, the Trust aims to develop best practice by collaborating and working together to give the best of everything to every child.

We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic and dedicated professional to work within Furness Education Trust as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will be responsible for the financial development and sustainability of Furness Education Trust and for the financial probity of the whole organisation. 

They will be responsible for providing the leadership and management of the Trust’s finance, Catering and IT functions, enabling the Trust to work effectively towards its aims. The CFO will support the CEO in their role as the Trust’s accounting officer.

You will:
•    Advise the CEO, Board and other Executive Leadership Team on all matters relating to financial strategy and operations.
•    Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust’s strategy, providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, setting financial objectives and monitoring performance.
•    Manage the budget process, from planning through to approval, working with the Executive Leadership Team.
•    Build leadership and capacity at all levels.
