EYFS Teacher 
Full time, Fixed term (Maternity Cover)

Main Purpose of the Role
•    To deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), in line with statutory requirements and school policies
•    To provide a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported
•    To contribute to the wider life of the school as a committed and positive team member.

Key Responsibilities
•    Plan and deliver a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum, tailored to the needs of EYFS pupils
•    Demonstrate sound understanding of excellent pedagogic practice
•    Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that promotes independence, curiosity and a love of learning
•    Assess, monitor and record pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback to pupils and parents
•    Develop positive relationships with pupils, staff and families, supporting the well-being and personal development of every child
•    Work closely with colleagues and support staff to deliver effective provision and interventions
•    Support the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of all children
•    Participate in professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives
•    Maintain a high standard of classroom organisation and display
•    Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress.

Person Specification

Qualifications and training
•    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•    Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to EYFS

Experience
•    Experience of teaching in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
•    Experience of planning and delivering a creative, child-centred curriculum
•    Experiences of Little Wandle

Skills and knowledge
•    Sound knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and assessment requirements
•    Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all pupils
•    Knowledge and understanding of the Writing Framework and its implications for EYFS teaching practice
•    Excellent classroom management skills
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•    Excellent safeguarding practices
•    Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
