Senior Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant
September start- re-advertised due to staffing changes over the summer.
Grade and Hours of Work:
STA- Grade: PCD7 - Grade 7, SCP12-14- Mornings- 8.30-12.00am
TA- PCD5 - Grade 5, SCP6- Afternoon- 1pm-3.30pm.
30 hrs per week, permanent role Term time plus 1 week
Main Purpose
In the morning- to organise and support teaching and learning activities for classes across the school in phonics, early writing and maths in KS2. The primary focus is to carry out specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction of a qualified teacher.
Roles at this level will be expected to carry out specified work. Senior Teaching Assistants may also supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
In the afternoons- to work as a teaching assistant in our Reception class support the teaching and learning under the direction of the class teacher.

• Level 3 Qualification – Teaching Assistant
• Experience of working with and leading small groups or individual children.
• Team member, but also to show initiative when required.
• Is knowledgeable and organised.
• Is helpful, understanding, calm and consistent in their standards and behaviour.
• Is flexible, enjoys sharing ideas and understands the importance of collaboration.
• Will promote the school's chosen Christian values and has an understanding of their importance in Church Schools.
• Has experience working in classrooms.

Desirable Attributes
• Recent phonics training (Read Write Inc or equivalent)
• Paediatric first aider
• Experience of teaching early writing or maths in KS2
