Senior Teaching Assistant

Salary: Grade 7 Fte £28,598-£29,540
Hours: 0.5Fte annual pro rata: £14,299 – £14,770 (38 weeks per year)
Contract: Fixed term until July 2027 initially while a permanent post is evaluated.
Start Date: As soon as possible

St Mark's CE Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed Senior Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about inclusion and ensuring every child can thrive. Working alongside teachers and the SENDCo, you will support high-quality teaching and learning, help deliver targeted interventions, and enable pupils to achieve their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, promoting independence, confidence and wellbeing, and helping to create an environment where all children feel valued, included and able to flourish.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:
•    Holds a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
•    Has experience of working with children in a primary school setting.
•    Has a strong understanding of inclusive practice and SEND.
•    Can deliver interventions and adapt support to meet individual needs.
•    Promotes children's independence, confidence and positive attitudes to learning.
•    Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
•    Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
•    Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
•    Will actively support the Christian vision and values of our school.

We Would Particularly Welcome Applications From Candidates With:
•    Experience of supporting pupils with SEND.
•    Experience of delivering targeted interventions.
•    Knowledge, training or experience in British Sign Language (BSL), Makaton or other communication approaches.
•    Experience of supporting children with communication and interaction needs.
