Traffic Regulation Order 2026, Proposed Variation No.3 (ref 20mph/2026/Stat.Con/Eden)

Proposed new and amendments to speed limits in various locations across the Eden area of Westmorland and Furness; which are part of our 20mph programme.

Proposed changes

The effect of the proposed Order will be to: 

  • Introduce 20 miles per hour speed limits on various roads in the following areas:
    • Bolton
    • Kirkby Stephen
    • Maulds Meaburn
    • Newbiggin-on-Lune
  • Remove the 30 miles per hour speed limit from various roads, or sections of road, in:
    • Bolton
    • Kirkby Stephen
    • Maulds Meaburn 
    • Newbiggin-on-Lune
  • Remove the 40 miles per hour speed limit from various roads, or sections of road, in Bolton
