Traffic Regulation Order 2026, Proposed Variation No.5 (ref 20mph/2026/Stat.Con/South Lakeland)

Proposed new and amendments to speed limits in various locations across the South Lakeland area of Westmorland and Furness; part of the 20mph programme.

Proposed changes

The effect of the proposed Order will be to: 

  • Introduce 20 miles per hour speed limits on various roads in the following areas:
    • Burneside
    • Crosscrake
    • Grasmere
    • High Carley
    • Lowick Green
    • Outgate
    • Penningon
    • Sedgwick
    • Ulverston
  • Extend the existing 20 miles per hour speed limits on various roads in:
    • Pennington
    • Grasmere
  • Remove the 30 miles per hour speed limit from various roads, or sections of road in:
    • Burneside
    • High Carley
    • Outgate
    • Ulverston
  • Introduce 30 miles per hour speed limits on various roads, or sections of road, in: 
    • Burneside
    • Crosscrake
    • Pennington
