Proposed changes
Following ongoing reviews of off-street parking arrangements within the South Lakeland area, Westmorland and Furness Council has assessed the current provisions contained within The County of Cumbria (County Hall, Kendal) (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2020. As part of this review, it has been identified that several parking areas immediately surrounding the County Hall building are no longer required to be included within the Order. As a result, Westmorland and Furness Council proposes to make a variation of this order.
The Council proposes to revoke all entries relating to Area 1, Area 2, and Area 4 at County Hall, Kendal, and remove these parking areas entirely from the Off Street Parking Places Order.
We are writing to inform you of these proposals and to provide you with the opportunity to comment or object as part of the statutory consultation process.
Initial consultation for these schemes will take place from 6 August to 27 August 2026.
