Report a damaged or missing street nameplate.

It's important we keep street nameplates in good condition and readable. This is so that organisations like the Post Office and the emergency services can find their way around easily. 

It's illegal to:

  • remove or damage street nameplates 
  • put notices or stickers on, or near, a street nameplate

Our online form has options to report a problem with a road sign. This includes street nameplates too.

What we need to know

You'll need to let us know the exact location of the nameplate. 

If it's a town or village, we'll need the following information:

  • postcode
  • street name 
  • number of the nearest house 

If it's in a rural area, we'll need to know: 

  • the road or area name 
  • name of the nearest farm or house 
  • any significant landmarks 

You can also include a what3words address.
