If you live outside the Westmorland and Furness area

You need to apply through your own local authority, even if you want to apply for a place in a Westmorland and Furness school.

One or more of the schools you apply for could be in the area of a neighbouring local authority.

If your home address is in the local authority area of Westmorland and Furness, you should name your preferred schools on form your application in exactly the same way as a Westmorland and Furness Authority school. School Admissions will then work with the relevant local authority regarding your application.

If you give a school in the area of a neighbouring local authority as your first preference and it can be offered, you would not be offered a Westmorland and Furness local authority school.
