Election of councillors to Westmorland and Furness Council

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published a map of the new boundaries for Westmorland and Furness Council.
Election of councillors to parish, town and community councils
The majority of the Westmorland and Furness Council area is served by parish, town or community councillors. All these councils are up for election on Thursday 6 May 2027, though not all elections will be contested.
A small number of parish and town councils were due to elect councillors in May 2026 and May 2028. The dates of ordinary elections for these councils were changed in 2025. This was to bring them in line with the majority of other elections in our area. We ran a consultation on these changes through a Community Governance Review (CGR).
Read the Council meeting minutes about the CGR (held 24 July 2025).
