Togetherness is a national service offering practical, evidence‑based support to help families better understand emotions, behaviour and child development – from pregnancy and early years through to the teenage years and beyond.

Developed by NHS clinical psychologists and rooted in over 25 years of research and experience, Togetherness provides easy‑to‑access online learning, tools and resources to support everyday family life. The service helps parents and carers make sense of children’s feelings and behaviours, strengthen family connections and build emotional resilience.

Families can access:

  • Online learning programmes for parents, carers and grandparents
  • Age‑specific resources covering babies, children and teenagers
  • Clear, relatable guidance on topics such as anxiety, behaviour, sleep, relationships and emotional changes
  • Support that fits around busy family life, accessible anytime, anywhere

Togetherness is based on the well‑established Solihull Approach, a model used widely in health, education and family support services, now brought directly to families in a simple and compassionate way.

Councillor Janet Battye, Cabinet Member, said:

“Families face many pressures today, and emotional well-being is a key part of helping children thrive. Togetherness gives parents and carers practical, trusted support to understand their children better and strengthen family relationships. This kind of early, preventative help makes a real difference to everyday family life.”

Mil Vasic, Director of Children’s Services, said:

“What Togetherness offers families is understanding and support without judgment. It helps parents and carers build confidence in responding to their children’s emotional needs and supports stronger, healthier relationships at home. Providing families with accessible, evidence‑based support like this is vital to improving outcomes for children and young people.”

Whether families are looking for reassurance, guidance through a tricky stage, or tools to support feelings that are had to express,  Togetherness aims to be a trusted place for help and learning.
