The refurbishment of the public toilet facilities on Fell Street in Barrow has now been successfully completed, delivering improved, modern amenities for residents and visitors.
The project has transformed the male, female and accessible toilets. Works included the installation of new windows and doors, upgraded cubicles, improved electrics and a full redecoration to create a brighter, safer and more welcoming environment.
The scheme has been funded through Westmorland and Furness Council’s capital programme and forms part of the Council’s wider commitment to enhancing town centre facilities and supporting the ongoing regeneration of Barrow.
A spokesperson for Westmorland and Furness Council, said:

These upgrades will help ensure people feel comfortable and supported when spending time in the town, while contributing to a more welcoming and vibrant environment.”
The upgraded facilities are now fully open to the public. The toilets at Barrow Town Hall were made available for public use during the Fell Street toilet closure and the decision has been made to continue with this arrangement moving forward, with facilities available during normal building opening hours.
