Westmorland and Furness Council is encouraging residents to share their views as part of a review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations across the area.
The review, which is now underway and runs until 5 October 2026, will help ensure that voting arrangements remain convenient, accessible and suitable for local communities.
The Council is seeking feedback on existing polling arrangements, as well as suggestions for alternative polling districts, polling places and polling stations where appropriate.
Views are also welcomed on proposals put forward by the Acting Returning Officers for the parliamentary constituencies that fall wholly or partially within Westmorland and Furness.
Westmorland and Furness is split across four parliamentary constituencies: Barrow and Furness, Morecambe and Lunesdale, Penrith and Solway, and Westmorland and Lonsdale.
Linda Jones, Director for Law and Governance at the council, said: "Voting is one of the most important ways people can have their say in local and national democracy. We want to make sure that polling arrangements continue to meet the needs of our communities, so we're encouraging residents to tell us whether current arrangements work well in their area and to suggest improvements where they feel they are needed."
The Council is particularly keen to hear from residents and organisations with expertise in accessibility and supporting people with disabilities.
Comments are also welcomed from registered electors, local political parties, MPs, councillors, parish and town councils, and community groups.
All comments received as part of the review will be published anonymously on the Council's website.

Following the consultation, final proposals will be considered by Westmorland and Furness Council on 26 November 2026, with the outcome of the review subsequently published on the Council's website.
Residents are encouraged to have their say before the consultation closes on 5 October 2026.
