Amendments proposed to extend Public Space Protection Orders

Have your say on Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) amendments to extend them in more areas.

Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) help our local communities by tackling anti-social behaviour and environmental damage linked to fly-camping, alcohol use, fires or barbecues, and dog fouling.

We've had requests to extend PSPOs to more public spaces. 

Who we work with 

We work with partner organisations to protect public spaces. Our partners include:

  • Cumbria Police
  • Lake District National Park Authority
  • National Trust
  • landowners

Proposed PSPO locations

The proposed PSPOs cover nine locations including:

  • Ambleside - Galava Roman Fort
  • Ambleside – Holme Crag
  • Hartsop - Brotherswater
  • Coniston - Brown Howe
  • Haweswater Reservoir
  • Ullswater – South Ullswater including Glencoyne and Aira Force
  • Ullswater - South Ullswater including Ullswater Steamers land in Glenridding and Jenkin Field in Patterdale
  • Ullswater - Laybys and land adjacent lake
  • Windermere – Bowness and Millerground including Cockshot Point
