We work with a variety of trusted partners whose expertise helps deliver positive environmental outcomes across Westmorland and Furness. Cumbria

  • Cumbria Wildlife Trust – Conservation charity working to protect and restore wildlife, habitats and natural landscapes across Cumbria. 
  • National Trust – Conservation charity that protects and manages historic places, countryside, coastlines and cultural heritage for public benefit.
  • Friends of the Lake District – Charity campaigning to protect and enhance Cumbria’s landscapes, nature and local communities. 
  • Cumbria Local Nature Partnership – Partnership organisation that provides a strategic voice for nature recovery and environmental action across Cumbria. 
  • Lake District National Park Authority – Public body responsible for conserving, enhancing and promoting understanding and enjoyment of the Lake District National Park. 
  • Yorkshire Dales National Park – National Park authority responsible for protecting the landscape, wildlife, heritage and communities of the Yorkshire Dales.
  • RAISE – Cumbria Community Forest – Community forest programme creating woodland and improving access to nature to benefit people, wildlife and climate resilience. 
  • University of Cumbria – Higher education institution providing teaching, research and community engagement across Cumbria and beyond.
  • Cumbria Tourism – Destination management organisation promoting Cumbria and supporting the county’s visitor economy.
  • National Education Nature Park – National programme helping schools and educational settings improve biodiversity and connect young people with nature.
  • Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership (ZCCP) - Brings together organisations across Cumbria to coordinate action towards achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2037.

Eden

  • Ullswater Catchment Management CIC – Community interest company working with farmers and partners to improve river health, biodiversity, flood resilience and sustainable land management in the Ullswater catchment. 
  • Eden Rivers Trust – Environmental charity dedicated to protecting and restoring rivers, freshwater habitats and wildlife throughout the Eden catchment. 
  • North Pennines National Landscape – Protected landscape partnership conserving the natural beauty, heritage and biodiversity of the North Pennines.

South Lakeland

  • South Cumbria Rivers Trust – Charity working to improve rivers, lakes and freshwater habitats across South Cumbria through conservation and community action. 
  • Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape – Protected landscape partnership dedicated to conserving and enhancing one of England’s most important landscapes for nature, heritage and recreation. 
  • Holker Estate – Historic estate managing land, farming, woodland, heritage assets and environmental initiatives across South Cumbria.
  • Morecambe Bay Partnership – Charity bringing organisations and communities together to protect, celebrate and enhance the Morecambe Bay area. 
  • Freshwater Biological Association – Independent research and education charity advancing the understanding and protection of freshwater ecosystems.

Furness

  • Art Gene – Barrow-based community arts organisation using creative projects to connect people, place, culture and environmental action.
  • Full of Noises – A Barrow-based arts organisation that champions experimental music, sound art and creative learning through concerts, workshops and community events.
