The different ways you can dispose of your trade waste

Owners and operators are responsible for making sure the waste from their business is disposed of correctly.

There are a number of options to dispose of your trade waste, you can:

  • arrange for a private waste disposal or recycling company to collect your waste
  • contact a skip hire company and have a skip delivered
  • take your waste to a private disposal or recycling facility

You cannot take trade waste to any Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC).

Your waste must be kept secure and be collected by a licensed waste carrier, who is registered with the Environment Agency.

  • using a street litter bin
  • pretending it is household waste 
  • using recycling banks

Trade waste collections in Eden

In Eden, our general waste contractor Urbaser,  provides a trade waste collection but other companies are available to offer this service.

Urbaser carries out trade waste collections on our behalf under a separate contract with the relevant business. They provide trade waste bins in three sizes:

  • 240 litres
  • 360 litres
  • 660 litres
  • 1,100 litre

They also provide white trade waste bags that hold 25 litres.
