Barrow-in-Furness area, street trading licences

Westmorland and Furness Council operates a consent scheme for street trading in the Barrow-in-Furness area.

This means that you have to obtain a Street Trading Consent from our Public Protection Services team before you can trade in the area.

Consented areas

All streets in the Barrow-in-Furness area have been designated as consent streets. Limited street trading is allowed in Barrow Town Centre.

Consents are issued subject to standard conditions, generally for one year. They are not transferable.

You can renew a consent at the end of the consent period, unless you have stopped trading.

Specific conditions may be attached to some consents.
