Due to essential maintenance work, Ambleside Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) will be closed from 8am on Monday 17 April and will reopen at midday on Wednesday 10 May.
Whilst Ambleside HWRC is closed, please use the nearest alternative sites:
- Kendal HWRC, Canal Head North, Kendal, LA9 7DB. Open Monday to Sunday 8am to 4pm.
- Flusco HWRC, Newbiggin, Penrith CA11 0JB. Open Monday to Sunday 8am to 6pm.
Valid waste permits issued for Ambleside HWRC will be accepted at all the HWRCs in the area.
A Westmorland and Furness Council spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused while Ambleside HWRC is closed for emergency repairs.
“Please check our website for updates to changes to the plan or re-opening date of the site. If the works are completed ahead of time, it will re-open earlier than expected.”
