The A686 at Langwathby Bridge will be closed for three consecutive nights between 8pm and 6am for essential bridge maintenance works from tomorrow (Wednesday 28 February).

Westmorland and Furness Highways will be conducting the repair works on Langwathby Bridge under a night time closure to maintain the safety of the public and minimise disruption for road users.

The road will be fully closed during these hours, with vehicles asked to follow a signed diversion via A66, B6412 Culgaith. Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to use the route with site staff on hand to help them navigate safely through the closure.

Works are expected to complete by 6am on Saturday 2 March.

The council thanks the local community for their patience while these essential maintenance works are delivered and apologise for any disruption caused.
