The evening will include:

- Personal stories and reflections shared through Veteran’s Voice
- Collaborative discussions to improve local advice and support pathways
- Informative stalls from local organisations
Free coach transport is available from Barrow and Penrith.
For those driving to the event, free parking will be available at South Lakeland House car park from 5.00pm to 8.00pm (spaces are limited and available on a first come, first served basis).
To confirm attendance and request coach transport, please RSVP by Monday 28 July by contacting: Cat.Brumwell@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk / 01539 793441.
This event forms part of Westmorland and Furness Council’s wider commitment to fair and meaningful support for Armed Forces members, veterans and their families, as outlined in the Armed Forces Covenant which was signed by the council in 2023.
The covenant recognises the dedication and sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces community and seeks to ensure they are treated fairly and not disadvantaged as a result of their service.
The council’s continued support has also been recognised through the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, which reflects its ongoing efforts to provide inclusive opportunities and support for service personnel and veterans.
Westmorland and Furness Council looks forward to welcoming guests to this important event, which aims to strengthen connections, share experiences and shape future support for the Armed Forces community.
