Time is running out for Westmorland and Furness businesses to have their say and let us know how we can help them.
Our annual business survey closes on 30 June, so time is running out if you haven't yet responded and we would love to hear from you.
We’re keen to hear from businesses of all sectors and sizes from across the area so please do have your say.
The survey takes no longer than five to 10 minutes and the results make a huge difference. Findings from the survey help us plan for future employment development and understand the opportunities and challenges facing the business community.
Run by the council's Economic Development and Regeneration team, everybody who owns or operates a business in Westmorland and Furness is invited to contribute to help ensure their views and insight help inform future economic support strategies and policies.
Councillor Jonathan Brook, Council Leader and Cabinet Member for Strategic Partnerships and the Economy, said: "Thanks to everyone who has engaged with our annual business survey so far. Every response contributes to building up a picture of the business landscape in Westmorland and Furness and, crucially, where we need to target our support.
"It is critically important that owners and leaders of all types of business, from multinationals to those based at home, give their views and share their local knowledge. So, if you have not done so already, please do take part. It only takes a few minutes but will make a huge difference."
Submitted responses will also support the development of the Westmorland and Furness Local Plan. The Local Plan will set out how much development (e.g. new homes and employment sites) is needed in our communities and where, allocating appropriate sites. It will ensure that new development is built in the right places and in a way that balances the economic, social and environmental impacts.
Issues covered in the survey include levels of confidence for the next 12 months, projected staffing levels, anticipated future business premises needs and the importance of addressing climate change.
