All schools must by law, have admission arrangements that clearly set out how children will be admitted, including the criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at the school.
Why your views matter
The School Admissions Code 2021 requires admission authorities to consult where changes are proposed to admission arrangements which will apply in the following academic year. We are now seeking views on the proposed admission arrangements and the coordinated admission scheme for 2027-28.
Councillor Janet Battye, Cabinet Member for Children's Services said:
"As is normal throughout England, we are the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools in Westmorland and Furness area; and so we must share admission arrangements that clearly set out how children will be admitted, including criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at the school. Please read the information and fill in the survey if you wish to comment"
For more information, including who admission authorities need to consult with, please refer to the School Admissions Code.
