Two Westmorland and Furness short breaks homes rated Outstanding and Good by Ofsted

Huntley Avenue OFSTED Outstanding result

Ofsted have rated our Huntley Avenue home as outstanding across all areas, and Hart Street is rated as Good across all areas. 

As we come to the end of the calender year, Westmorland and Furness Council is delighted to announce congratulations to the team at Huntley Avenue Short Breaks Home following their recent Ofsted inspection, which resulted in an Outstanding rating across all areas.
Also, congratulations to the team at Hart Street Short Breaks Home whose inspection also resulted in a Good rating across all areas.

These achievements reflect the exceptional commitment, professionalism, and compassion demonstrated by staff in delivering high-quality short breaks for children and young people. The inspection praised the both the homes strong safeguarding culture, personalised care, and the nurturing relationships that enable children to thrive.

As a local authority, we recognise the vital role that Huntley Avenue and Hart Street play in supporting families and promoting positive outcomes. These ratings are a testament to the team’s dedication to continuous improvement and their focus on the wellbeing of children.

An Outstanding and a Good rating reflect the hard work of the team and their commitment to providing safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for those who need it most."

“We thank both teams for their superb contribution and for setting such a high standard of care and support for children and young people with special needs, who thoroughly enjoy their time spent in Huntley Avenue or Hart Street. This gives their families some important time, and the children a short break away.”
