A once-in-a-generation scheme to transform part of Barrow’s town centre is to go ahead after planning permission for a key aspect of the project was secured.
Voters will go to the polls on 4 May in a number of parish and town council elections across the area, as well as in a by-election for a vacant seat on Westmorland and Furness Council.
Moves are under way to invest £7.3 million of government funding in projects which support local businesses and communities in Westmorland and Furness.
