The first stage of a £1 million project to make it easier for people to walk, cycle and travel in sustainable ways in Westmorland and Furness has been given the go-ahead.
Westmorland & Furness Council’s three locality boards have agreed their priorities for £300k of Strong & Connected Communities funding over a range of programmes aimed at supporting improvements in their respective communities.
Extension works at Levens CE School were completed in time for the new school term, following a £785,000 investment from Westmorland and Furness Council.
Funding to restore or improve bus routes and services in Westmorland and Furness is to be targeted at reconnecting communities and boosting access to public transport.
