Westmorland and Furness Council has confirmed that Mansion House in Penrith has been prepared for sale, with the Grade II listed property now formally identified as surplus to requirements following the relocation of council services and staff to Voreda House.
The council's Cabinet member for Communities, Customer Services, Culture and Communications, Councillor Helen Chaffey, has provided a detailed update on the closure of Barrow Market and the future of the market and Forum.
Through the Safe and Strong Communities Community Grant Fund, the Council are encouraging VCF infrastructure organisations to apply for over £379,000 that will offer financial support across a three-year period.
