Post details:
We are a friendly Church school set in a stunning rural location, looking for an inspiring, caring leader who will display a clear understanding of Church School Christian distinctiveness and have the ability to develop this further. The right person will confidently and actively help to promote our Christian vision.

Our Christian ethos aims to see all our children being lovingly nurtured to achieve SUCCESS and WELLBEING, displaying RESILIENCE and HOPE with a full understanding of RESPECT for God, themselves and others.

Our school is in the southern fringe of the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in the village of Broughton-in-Furness. The population of the village and surrounding area are employed in a wide variety of occupations including farming, CGP publishing and engineering at Barrow and Sellafield.

We currently have 1   29 children and provide education from nursery to year 6. We completed building a new nursery unit extension to the school at Easter 2024 opened by our local Member of Parliament.

The school has grown significantly in pupil numbers in recent years . We are proud of our school community, and our website https://www.broughton-furness.cumbria.sch.uk/ and Facebook pages give an up to date  overview of all that is going on, as well as our open, lively and positive Christian ethos.

Our Ofsted report from March 2023 rated us as ‘Good’ and demonstrates our overall effectiveness and can be seen on https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/21/112287 . Our last SIAMS judgement was ’Good’ stating ‘The school’s Christian character results in a secure and caring environment ‘and‘ All members of the school community know that they are valued and the ethos of trust and respect is clearly evident.’ Our previous report from 2020 can be seen on https://www.carlislediocese.org.uk/documents/broughton-furness-siams-report-2020/
