Trust Primary Lead 
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 1 FTE 
Location: Office based in Ulverston or Carlisle and in our Schools across Cumbria and North Lancashire 
Salary Range: L18, £75,675 per annum
Required start: September 2025 or sooner

The Mater Christi Multi Academy Trust was established in 2021, set up to serve the Catholic schools in North Lancashire and Cumbria in the Diocese of Lancaster. It is our belief that our collaborative approach to school improvement gives our schools the tools necessary to improve and sustain this improvement over time.

We are now seeking to recruit an inspirational Trust Primary Lead who is aligned with our values and beliefs. This is a brand-new role for the Trust, to join the Trust in the next academic year. The Director of Primary Education will report to the Director of School Improvement and Development. You will work with the Primary Headteachers, ensuring the educational success across the primary phase schools. You will support our schools in realising the objectives as set out in the Trust Improvement Plans. You will embrace our Catholic ethos and values and ensure that collaborative working underpins everything we strive to achieve.

What we need from you:
•    Skills to effectively evaluate a school’s performance and, from their extensive knowledge, identify appropriate strategies to enhance school standards
•    High-level communication skills especially around influencing, negotiation, and painting an inspirational vision for school improvement to a wide variety of stakeholder groups
•     Proven leadership skills including the ability to lead complex change across schools

We are looking for someone who will:
•    provide pedagogic leadership as an outstanding classroom practitioner, playing a key part in raising standards through the model of your own excellent practice and by supporting the professional development of colleagues.
•    successfully lead positive change and improvement in primary schools 
•    work collaboratively across schools, with the Trust leadership team, and a range of other key stakeholders.
