Teaching Assistant 
Fixed term, part-time. 32.5 hours 
Temporary Contract until August 2026, but may be extended dependent on SEND requirements.
PCD5 £25,183 per annum Pro-Rata Actual Salary £18,940.78 (£13.05 per hour).

The children, staff and governors of North Lakes Junior School are looking to appoint two Teaching Assistants to join us from September 2025 on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2026.

This role will be part-time (8:45am – 3:30pm), term time only plus one week Inset training. The role will include supporting children in our Key Stage 2 classes and at times working within our Strategic Resource Provision. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils and as part of the position, will be supporting children with their learning and their emotional needs. The role will also include providing tailored interventions, as required, to enable our children to achieve their full learning potential.

The role will include:
•    Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including those with ASC, physical/medical difficulties, or severe learning difficulties
•    Supporting teachers across Key Stage 2 to deliver interventions
•    Delivering high-quality general classroom support
•    Working under the direction of class teachers as well as independently
•    Having a secure understanding of the primary curriculum
•    Using knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics.

Desirable Skills/Experience
•    Experience working with children who have profound learning needs.

We are looking for someone who:
•    Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ qualification in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent
•    Has relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
•    Has strong literacy and numeracy skills.
•    Has a sound knowledge of Special Educational Needs and a passion for inclusive education
•    Is proactive, resourceful and confident in managing learning tasks and classroom routines
•    Is patient, dynamic, and committed to helping every child thrive
•    Can use initiative and work effectively as part of a team
•    Is willing to undertake further training in both SEN and in Safeguarding to meet the needs of our pupils
