Permanent , Part-Time, Cleaner in Charge

Start date: 1st September 2025

Calthwaite CE Primary School are looking to employ a Cleaner in Charge  who is dedicated, loyal and hard working to provide our children with a clean and vibrant learning environment. 

We would like the candidate to be able to clean to a high standard and use their initiative to ensure all areas of the school are well kept and maintained. 

The post will involve lone working and key holder responsibilities to ensure the school building is secure each evening. 

About the role
Cleaner in charge
Contract:  Permanent (subject to a 3 month probationary period)
Work pattern: Outside of normal school day
Salary: OP4 £25,183 (pro rata), £13.05 per hour.

Hours: 15 per week, term time only (39 + 2 weeks)
 

The successful candidate will:
• Be willing to undertake relevant training when required
• Have good communication skills
• Manage the upkeep of our current high standards of cleanliness and hygienic school environment 
• To be proactive and manage their duties within the allocated time
• Maintain records as requested/ Liaise with the School Business Manager to ensure all cleaning products are well stocked 
• Display a professional attitude at all times
• Work constructively as part of a team
