Class Teacher – Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 – 0.5 (plus PPA)  
Fixed Term Contract: 1st September 2025 – 31st August 2026 (initially)

We are seeking to appoint from September 2025 a fixed term part-time teacher (0.5 plus PPA) to teach a mixed-age class of Reception, Year 1 and 2. This position is being offered, in the first instance, on a fixed-term basis for one year due to a recent headship appointment but may be extended. It will be a job-share with the headteacher.  The job will be 0.5 teaching 4 mornings of English and Maths to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, and also teaching 1 afternoon of foundation subjects.

Bolton Primary School is a small, primary school located in the Eden Valley. We have 60 children on roll. Our school was successfully inspected by Ofsted in June 2023. We have happy and respectful children who love coming to school and are keen to learn, along with a dedicated and professional staff team. Our curriculum is ambitious and planned to meet the needs of our pupils. We are very proud of the enhancements and experiences that we offer out of the classroom.

We are looking for a committed practitioner the following qualities, skills and knowledge:
•    An excellent teacher who has a thorough understanding of the Year 1 and 2 National Curriculum 
•    Has secure knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
•    Is passionate about Early Years / KS1 Education and learning through play
•    A secure understanding of assessment in EYFS and Key Stage 1 including baseline, Phonics Screening Check 
•    Demonstrate an understanding and experience of teaching a mixed-age class.
•    Excellent subject knowledge of early reading/phonics skills and mathematics
•    The ability to work well as part of our team and willingness to play an active part in
the wider life of the school.
•    Have high expectations and a commitment to reflect our schools’ ethos and values through every facet of their role.
•    An ability to support pupils with specific learning needs and ensuring an inclusive learning environment. 
•    Be flexible and prepared to adapt within the dynamic life of a small school.
•    May coordinate a foundation subject (depending on experience)
