Furness Education Trust is a multi-academy trust based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria serving the Furness Community, located near the centre of the historic shipbuilding town, we are close to the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park. Currently comprised of seven schools including Furness Academy, Walney School and five primary schools, the Trust aims to develop best practice by collaborating and working together to give the best of everything to every child.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic SENDCo to join the Leadership Team and take on the role of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator at a vibrant, hard-working and inclusive Academy. You will:
• Oversee and support a strong team, including experienced assistant SENDCo and HLTAs.
• Oversee the accurate identification and assessment of SEND needs, ensuring the appropriate provisions are in place.
• Provide professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills in supporting SEND students in the classroom.
• Track and monitor the progress of SEND students, using data to identify barriers to learning and implement strategies for improvement.
• Lead on the deployment of staff and resources to meet the needs of SEND students.
• Report regularly to the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body on the progress and developments of the SEND provision within the Academy.
