Swimming Teacher Vacancy for – September 2025 – Permanent Part Time Role

PCD8ii – Part time position with a starting salary of £29,777 Pro Rata for Term Time 
only, hourly rate of £15.43 (2025 support staff pay rises will increase this rate of pay shortly)

Sandgate is a special school for children and young people between the ages of 3-19 years and we are lucky to be able to offer swimming lessons and sensory swimming sessions to our students at the Hydrotherapy pool located on site.

We are looking to recruit a fun, enthusiastic and qualified swimming teacher who has experience and/or an interest of working with students with additional needs in early years, primary and secondary settings.

Your primary role will be to plan, deliver and review the highest quality, themed, fun and safe learn to swim lessons and/or sensory swim sessions for 3-19 years, changing lives through giving every child the opportunity to learn to swim and to learn through water 
play.

Applicants should provide playful and engaging swim sessions for Sandgate students, giving them the FUNdamental skills they need to enjoy water safely and build upon their aquatic confidence.

Safety is our number one priority, and the Swimming Teacher will work closely with hydrotherapy pool Lifeguards to ensure preparation of areas and equipment, management of incidents and adhering to the rules and guidelines set out by the Hydrotherapy Pool. The teacher will also be working closely with and directing the support staff that will accompany the students whilst they are in their swimming 
sessions.
