Teaching Assistant - 32.5 hours per week, part time, term time only (fixed term to 31st March 2026 due to budget reasons)

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm.

As our school continues to grow, so does our staff team. We are looking for a wonderful TA to work in our outstanding EYFS class. This role is initially for two terms but may extend to end of July 2026 if finances allow.

We  actually refer to TAs as teaching partners here - don’t worry it doesn’t mean more work but more a recognition that we could not do our jobs without you and that you play a key role in the success of the children - so much more than assistant to the teacher.

One of the most important things in our school is a sense of Belonging and Justice, as a result of this we need anyone who applies to work with our school to also recognise the importance of the school being a space where everyone belongs. Most of the roles will involve some, if not all 1 to 1 work, small group work, some general support and will include playground duty.

Please apply if
•    You love children and love seeing them grow, intellectually, socially and wonderfully
•    You love to see every child reach further than they ever thought they could
•    You are hardworking
•    You like to be outside
•    You can think outside of the box
•    You love a child led approach
•    You love to encourage risk taking
•    You’re a bit bonkers

Please don’t apply if
•    You only like to be indoors or melt when it gets wet
•    You like to be in charge (the children are in charge here)
•    You like to stay clean and tidy -we love mud and mess
•    You think children should be seen and not heard - this lot are a noisy, crazy, wonderful bunch of weirdos but they’re also pretty amazing.

You can get a good feel for our school from our social media pages and further information is included in the application pack available at www.grayrigg.cumbria.sch.uk.

The closing date for applications is Monday 18th August 2025 at midday.
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified, and this will be by the end of the day on 18th August 2025.
Interviews will take place on 21st August 2025.  Please note that referees will be contacted prior to the interview.

How To Apply
Please download the application pack from www.grayrigg.cumbria.sch.uk and complete all sections of the Westmorland & Furness Council job application form. Email your completed application form and a covering letter to admin@grayrigg.cumbria.sch.uk before the closing date.
