Fixed term starting Monday 3rd November 2025 until August 31st 2026 due to work 1-1 with a child with SEN needs
The Governors of Victoria Infant and Nursery School in Barrow in Furness are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and caring teaching assistant, who is highly motivated and passionate about supporting children with SEND and helping to take them forwards with their learning.
PCD 5 £25,183, per annum pro rata, term time only, 30 hours per week: 8.45am-3.15pm

The successful candidate will:
• have an excellent track record of time keeping and attendance so that you are here to support the children in school with the greatest needs.
• have essential qualifications: A minimum of a relevant QCF recognised Level 2 qualification, and preferably Level 3.
• have a passion for supporting the learning and development of all of our children, especially those with SEND, including autism and language needs
• have a proven track record of supporting learning using IEP’s and working towards EHCP targets
• be able to evidence that you have worked with teaching staff and the SENCO on IEP’s to support learning
• in conjunction with the SENCO, assist with the development of social skills and appropriate behaviour of pupils
• have positive behaviour management skills
• build strong positive relationships with everyone in school
• work closely with the class teachers to ensure continuity of learning and assessment
• be able to work independently using own initiative
• be able to organise and lead activities with individuals and groups of children
• be able to promote an inclusive whole school ethos
• be committed to raising standards and achieving the best for the children in their care
• be self-motivated, positive, resourceful, reliable and creative
• be flexible and able to adjust to the needs of the children and the school
