Apply for a parking permit

There are different types of permits you can apply for.

On-street parking permits

There are 2 types of on street permits you can apply for depending on where you live and what you need it for:

• residential on-street parking permit - if you're a resident of Westmorland and Furness and want to park near your property
• commercial on-street parking waiver - if you're a contractor, such as a builder, who is doing work to a property and needs to park outside

Off-street parking permits

You can buy a permit for car parks in:

• the South Lakeland area
• County Hall in Kendal

Long stay parking in Penrith

You can pay for a long stay parking permit in one of Penrith car parks up to 12 months in advance. We currently have a waiting list for these permits.
