We're proposing to introduce 20mph speed limit schemes in parts of Westmorland and Furness. Check the progress of the schemes currently in development.
Since December 2023 we've received a number of applications to introduce 20mph speed limits, covering 79 separate areas in Westmorland and Furness.

We're progressing scheme proposals over a three-year period, which will end in 2027. You can find updates on some of these schemes below.

Installation is ongoing across the 20 schemes and we expect it should be completed in Autumn 2025.
We're working to deliver these schemes. The consultation has ended, and we're analysing feedback.
