Council opening hours throughout Christmas
Some Westmorland and Furness Council offices will be closed over the Christmas and New Year Bank Holidays. Read the full list of Council opening hours during the festive period.
Charges apply to permanent swinging moorings, holiday moorings and short-term jetty berthing on Windermere. Separate fees apply for the cost of berths and the use of on site facilities at Ferry Nab Marina.
There is also a charge for Windermere boat registration which is a requirement for all powered boats on the lake.
All prices listed below include VAT at the appropriate rate from 1 April 2024.
We have nearly 800 swinging mooring sites on the lake, these are let on an annual basis.
Third party insurance compulsory.
Mooring licensees are entitled to limited free use of slipway, tractor, mast hoist and unlimited showers.

We have 22 moorings that can be hired by the night.

The maximum overall length for a holiday mooring is 11m.

All powered boats on Windermere, whether in use, moored, for private use or business must have a current National Park boat registration.
