Warm Spots are run by a range of different organisations including churches, village halls, local councils and libraries.

Warm Spots have their own opening days and times, and what they offer can vary. Please check with them before you travel.

Alston Library (warm spot)

warm welcome from library staff onsite, browsing and borrowing of library stock, free requests service, free public Wi-Fi, 2 hours free use per day of library PCs, printing, slightly limited space to study or read, requestable storysacks and dementia bags

Alston Town Hall

Teas, coffee, cakes, hot soup with a scone or roll served at 12pm. Afternoon entertainment, bingo, live music, quiz, board games, free wifi plus informative talks from guests on things like how to keep your home warm, fire safety etc. Everyone welcome.

Ambleside Parish Centre

Anyone in the community can join us for a hot drink and conversation. We usually offer a warm snack option such as soup, beans on toast alongside our usual cakes and scones in the colder months too all for a small optional donation

Appleby Library (warm spot)

Warm welcome from library staff onsite, Free public Wi-Fi, 2 hours free use per day on public PCs, printing, browsing and borrowing of stock, free requests service, toilet facilities, slightly limited space to study, read and chat

Appleby Public Hall Supper Room - Renew Wellbeing

Including a soup lunch. This is a welcoming space that is open for everyone and where it's OK to not be OK. Facilities: Accessible Toilets; Charging Facilities; Food Available; Free Wifi; Hot Drinks

Arragons Cycles

Our log burner will be lit every day it’s cold! We have coffee and tea facilities.

Askam Library

Free membership. Two hours computer access with available printing and books, signposting, activities for adults and families.
