Personal injury and property damage claims

Our insurance arrangements and how to make a claim against us.

You're entitled to pursue a claim for compensation against us if:

  • you've been injured, have had property damaged , or both
  • you believe we're responsible

Such claims are usually dealt with by our insurers, their appointed claims handlers (or both).

New compensation claims

Before starting your claim, you should read the following information.

There's no automatic right to compensation. This is dependent on the circumstances and legal liability.

Please consider seeking your own legal advice from a solicitor or contacting Citizen's Advice.

For information about how we use your personal information, please read our Privacy Notice for Insurance (Compensation Claims).

We have a duty to safeguard public funds and will use the information you provide for the prevention and detection of fraud. We may also share your information with other bodies responsible for auditing and administering public funds for the same reasons.

Making a false claim for compensation is a criminal offence which can lead to prosecution.
